Would You Like To See More?

Let's head north on Front Street to the Front Street Square. This is where Monument first started groups of shops and businesses.

The Love Shop is quite interesting. Kathi has unique gifts like Willow Tree angels & figurines, candles, lodge decor, inspirational books, music & cards, teacups & teas, Pandora jewelry and much, much more. You must look all over this store to really see the interesting trinkets she has!

Prickly Pear is Monument's new "Home Decor" shop. Here you can find florals, furniture, & accessories to fit your Colorado lifestyle.

Ah, The Coffee Cup Cafe, a fixture in Monument for many, many years. It has gone through different owners, but they always kept the same name. They must have understood the importance of this particular cafe and its 20th century history. It is a popular hometown restaurant that offers breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. They have a wide range of selections with specials for every meal every weekday. You have to try the "World Famous Country Fries".

How about The Blue Sage Merchant a "Little Bit of Everything" store offering wholesale & liquidation prices! Colorado souvenirs, fine and fashion jewelry, clothing, collectibles, gifts and more! The premier Ebay store in our area. They can put your items on Ebay for a small fee, they happen to have powerseller status on that site.

The Winter Gallery is a very special place, located in a beautiful Spanish Territorial building. They have fine art paintings and sculptures on display by local artists.

This may be a little different, but you need to see our terrific UPS guy. The Monument route is huge and he chose it specifically. He is always friendly, never seems to have a bad day. He is a true icon of the community. Thank you Steve!

Now we must traverse Washington Street.

We have a salon & day spa that works fantastic for women and men. Expectations Salon & Day Spa, where you can expect the best in skin care, massage, hair and nail care. Oh, and what they can do for your feet is unbelievable! Always expect the BEST from Expectations! Maria is the owner and she also does parties for weddings and birthdays. Expectations was also highlighted on Dr. Phil with their amazing makeovers.

Now for an unbelievable toy store. Monumental Miniatures and Toys. One side is all toys, but not the kind of toys that you find in a box store. Oh no, these are completely different. More in the old-fashioned line that a lot of us born in the '50's understand. She has potato guns, a cute item where you stick the gun barrel in a potato and then shoot it. No plastic pellets to get lost, all biodegradable. She has dolls that speak different languages(German, Korean, French, Spanish, and others). Her musical jewelry boxes have hidden compartments. But, I am just touching on the items she has. Groovy Girls are dolls much the same as Barbie, but they are soft. I never knew they existed. Groovy Girls have everything Barbie does, but it is all soft. This kind of toy store is where many toy connoisseurs flock to admire and purchase her wonderful collectibles. My gosh, she has Estes rockets(if you know anything about rockets for your kids, Estes is the only brand), there are fantastic medieval knights and dragons, and a whole line of these items from Schliech( a German company). Geez, I haven't even touched on the other side of the store. OH, MY, GOSH! The miniatures, they are not for rambunctious kids. These are for the serious collector or 'developer'. Go look at this area, it is like a miniature museum. I never gave a whit about this kind of thing until I saw what she has set up in this line. Maybe I should do a whole thing on her miniatures. Let me know, I will.

Now, High Country Home & Garden. Woody and Kathy are major proponents of our community
Woody is the (instigator)coordinator for all the Concerts in the Park. They have to commute to get to their place of business, but they obviously love Monument, and do whatever they can to help out. High Country is Monument's Garden Center. They have all kinds of flowering plants, vegetable plants, grass seed, weed killers, pest killers, and everything under the sun. They know all about this growing zone and will help you with your questions on what to grow. Fountains, they have fountains, big ones, little ones, all around the horn. Squirrel problems, ask 'em. What grass seed do I need for this kind of ground? Ask 'em. They know! Honestly, you need to understand the short growing season we have here, Woody and Kathy can answer you.
